A mutual friend introduced me to Kim and Kris who were planning their wedding at a friend's farm outside of Portland, Texas. It was the first time I had been out to this road along Nueces Bay and loved the space and the views. Kim and Kris had a very simple, but effective plan for their wedding ceremony and reception.

They utilized rocks that Kim's mother had picked up as place cards (and they also worked to hold the tablecloths down in the winds we had.) I also loved their wedding cake - if I'm not mistaken, the maid-of-honor made the topper herself. This was a good old-fashioned DIY wedding, from the decorations to the food, they essentially made their own wedding as beautiful as it could be.
