Interior Photography | Elizabeth’s

A few weeks back I was approached by the Art Museum of South Texas’s latest restaurant venture, Elizabeth’s, to create some stock imagery of the space that they could add to their custom photo stock for use on their website, marketing materials, and social media content. I was super excited to see the designs that Cecile Gottlich of Studio Cecile IG: @studio_cecile had gathered for this unique light-filled space that overlooks the Corpus Christi Ship Channel, Texas State Aquarium, and USS Lexington Museum on the Bay. The beautiful contrast of the warm natural textures and blue of the Corpus Christi Bay and sky meshed together extremely well. The major tricks this space threw out included one wall of windows, another wall with angled mirrors, and the addition of very warm yet dim tungsten lighting.

Of course, window views were a necessity, however, I didn’t want to deliver just a set of wide-angle shots with clear window views. I wanted to ensure that I included some other natural images looking back inwards with the gorgeous window light providing super soft, beautiful East light in the afternoon. One more thing I love including when I photograph new spaces where clients need content are the textures that I come across. In fact, I usually save texture shots for the end because abstracting textures is my own little reward. I can’t wait to give Elizabeth’s a try.
