Aerial Photography | Land and Amenity photography for the Port of Corpus Christi

I recently had the opportunity to work with the Port of Corpus Christi on an exciting aerial photography project. They were marketing a variety of large, vacant properties for industrial development, but given the sheer size of these properties, standard drone photography wasn’t going to cut it. That’s where I came in. Their marketing agent reached out to me to photograph two dozen properties and key Port features from a helicopter over the course of two days. Having previous experience photographing buildings and heavy-lift cargo ships from the air, I was familiar with the challenges that come with aerial photography—whether it’s dealing with turbulence, lighting conditions, or getting the right angles while moving at speed. My experience helped me anticipate potential issues and ensure we captured everything we needed.

One of the most valuable aspects of this project was the ability to provide instant feedback to the marketing agent using wireless tethering. This allowed them to review each shot in real time, ensuring we captured the proper land parcels and the best angles for their marketing materials. The flexibility of shooting from a helicopter gave us the range and control to frame each shot precisely, even with the vast scale of the properties. This real-time collaboration made the process much smoother and ensured the final images aligned perfectly with their development marketing goals. It was a rewarding project that combined technical challenges with the satisfaction of helping showcase a major player in industrial development.
