Food Photography | The Post at Lamar Park

In Corpus Christi’s Lamar Park shopping center, there used to be a post office I would frequent with my grandfather. It wasn’t anything particularly special, in fact, it was really my first memory of how boring and plain government offices could be. At some point between then and now, a new Lamar Park post office was built a few miles away and the post office located in Lamar Park would be shuttered. From that largely vacant space, a clever local developed half of the building into “The Post at Lamar Park”.

At the time I still was developing my portfolio and my own personal brand and decided it was worthwhile to work for a little exposure (and some free food) so I reached out to the owners. Little did I know that my friend Gerald Flores (Taco Gear | Tuxedo Goose Films), whose day job is creative director at Ensemble Group, was working with The Post to develop a website. We met up over there one cold winter day to grab some shots of their main menu items as well as the space. This was my first restaurant photography branding session creating food & space photo content.

Update: Looking back a few years at this shoot, part of me is proud I was searching out new photography niches, and part of me respects how much further I’ve developed my food photography skills.

This is a look back at some of my first food photography work from 2016. Since then I’ve photographed a cookbook, a dozen other restaurants, almost a hundred other recipes, and more. Coastal bend restaurants that want to jump into content marketing via social media, print ads, and more, reach out to me! Let’s talk over lunch to see how my food photography will enhance your marketing efforts. Food photography & interior photography throughout Corpus Christi, Port Aransas, and south Texas is my niche.
