Commercial Photography | Gulf Coast Federal Credit Union

When Eclipse Brand Builders were in the final stages of building out the new Portland branch of Gulf Coast Federal Credit Union, they got in touch with me about photographing their new construction build. The project scope included primarily focusing on sunrise and twilight photography of the building’s exterior, and then a few interior photos of the bank’s common areas. Commercial photography can face many challenges, and calculating sunrise positions to set up your equipment is just one of them.

When I arrived in the early morning, I began a quick walk around to see what unique angles the building should be photographed from. After taking a few test shots, I transitioned into starting the twilight portion of this shoot.

As the sun began to fill the sky with fresh light I started recalculating angles to capture this bank branch in the best way possible. As the sun rose, clouds in the sky painted a variety of colors which I was hoping for. I spent the next 10 minutes enjoying the beautiful sunrise while taking some bracketed photos - I quickly snapped back to reality and knocked out the remainder of our session.

As I said before, commercial photography isn’t without challenges, but when I’ve completed culling photos, going through basic edits, and then finalize construction portfolio photos with client request edits - the challenge is absolutely worthwhile.

I’m a commercial photographer based in Corpus Christi - while I spend my days photographing real estate I love taking on commercial and marketing photography projects throughout south Texas. If you have a commercial construction project completing soon, let’s talk about ensuring your company has some excellent portfolio imagery of your work.
