Home of the Week | 523 W Ave C

This week I was called to make my way out to photograph some real estate in Port Aransas. I hadn’t photographed a home for sale in old town Port Aransas in years, so I hadn’t spent much time in old town since Hurricane Harvey blew through in 2017. Even though a majority of the town has mostly recovered, you still see lots and homes that are awaiting their turn for help.

This Port Aransas home is a stunner - old town Port A homes feature eclectic styling and lots of coastal charm, and 523 W Avenue C is no exception. With the main house elevated, there is lots of room underneath to feature a studio apartment/rental with a full kitchen, bath, and laundry. Even with the studio apartment, there are two full garage spaces. Separate from the main house is an additional large two-door garage/workshop with its own climate-controlled office space / hang-out / man cave.

On the second floor of the main house is the primary living space with a wide-open kitchen and living area. The sit-at kitchen island has a gas cooktop opposite of a classic farmhouse sink looking out large windows. The two bedrooms are above average size - the primary bedroom features a bath en suite with a standard-sized custom tile shower. The second bedroom has a large built-in bookshelf and plenty of natural light. The second bathroom upstairs has an upgraded tub and surface-mount vessel sink.

All around the home the landscaping has been upgraded to create an oasis perfect for anyone to enjoy, whether this is your primary residence, secondary residence, or vacation rental. A fenced grass yard gives the puppies room to run and do their business safely. Adjacent to the staircase for the main home is a sheltered sitting area on river rock, perfect for evening fires and chats. Underneath the staircase is an outdoor shower to clean after beach trips and a bench swing to sit and enjoy coastal living like only Port Aransas can offer.
